About us
The Design, Manufacturing Engineering and Control Laboratory is specific to “Arts et Métiers” and University of Lorraine.
Challenge : Development of the futurs Manufacturing Systems
Development & improvement of methodologies and tools to devise, design, optimize, control the manufacturing systems ;
- Higher productivity under enhanced safety conditions (new human-centred production site)
- New high performance manufacturing technologies in terms of efficiency (volumes, speed, process capability), robustness and accuracy.
- Quality assessment, monitoring and proactive process improvement for higher and more stable product quality.
- Adaptability/re-configurability of the manufacturing systems - robots and other intelligent machines
Research topics:
- Integrated Product / Process / Manufacturing System Design (developement of methodologies and tools to improve the quality, safety, accuracy, …)
- Manufacturing process and systems optimization (Manufacturing knowledge extraction & formalization, experimental and numerical assessments of the manufactuting performances, Green Products Manufacturing)
- Control of the manufacturing systems (robotics, development of non linear model, …)
Scientifics issues :
- Robustness – Uncertainty mangement of the System: Product / Process / Manufacturing system / Control (Quality, Safety, Fault tolerant process, Risk, …)
- Performance – Optimization of the System: Product / Process / Manufacturing system / Control (numerical and experimental approaches)
- Modelling – Manufacturing knowledge and model extraction and formalization of the System: Product / Process / Manufacturing system / Control (experimental approaches)
